Community Programs Offered
The Safe Return Program, funded by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, provides reentry assistance and a broad range of essential services for individuals returning to society within three years of being incarcerated and who are no longer under criminal justice supervision. Safe Return ensures that individuals returning to society from incarceration are given the tools and care they need in order to establish and lead self-fulfilling, independent lives after reintegrating back into society.
The Navigator Program, funded by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, provides individuals in need with linkage to critical social services in order to assist with both short-term and long-term individual and family stabilization. Through collaborative partnerships with providers, hospital systems, law enforcement and the courts, the Navigator Program provides outreach, rapid response and navigation to a number of critical social services, including but not limited to treatment and addiction services, housing, employment services, education, legal services and more.
The IMPACT program meets individuals where they are – in the community, in their homes, on the street, at service events, etc. – to ensure prompt service delivery in a comfortable setting. As a key part of the program, IMPACT Specialists work side-by-side with law enforcement partners in satellite offices embedded within police departments – delivering critical social services to those most in need, and at times, diverting from criminal justice system involvement.
VOADV has built partnerships with law enforcement and service providers to conduct human trafficking outreach in Atlantic City and beyond. The partnerships offer victims services, while also taking a diversionary approach when working with missing and at-risk youth. We provide immediate, direct services for survivors of human trafficking paired with law enforcement guided outreach efforts to identify and help victims. We also have a comprehensive youth awareness and general public information program.
The Safe Return Legal Navigator program provides the community with access to appropriate legal resources and simplifies complex legal processes. Clients receive personalized guidance from trained legal navigators who help them understand their rights and options. The program ensures that participants are empowered to make informed decisions about their legal options by providing one-on-one consultations, legal assistance referrals, and procedural guidance for court matters. Safe Return Legal Navigator also works closely with its sister program, IMPACT, to provide a full continuum of care for participants by addressing their underlying social service needs. By fostering a supportive environment and enhancing legal literacy, the SRLN program promotes a more informed and empowered community.
