Anna Sample House Complex is a 93-bed emergency housing program that serves single women and families experiencing homelessness. Volunteers of America Delaware Valley dedicated the shelter in 1988 to honor Anna M. Sample, a woman who devoted her life to fighting poverty in the City of Camden. VOADV provides every emergency housing client with the individualized plan and supports they need to remain stably housed upon discharge. Case managers help clients execute tasks, develop life skills, and build support systems throughout their stay.
Anna Sample House Complex also works closely with local school districts, childcare centers, the Department of Children and Families, and McKinney-Vento representatives. These partnerships ensure that all children residing in the program are connected with the services and resources they need for healthy development.
